A Spark on the Deck Ignites Residential Fire in Mission Valley on the 4th of July?

7/1/2024 (Permalink)

Smoke from a fire billows above a San Diego, CA., neighborhood. We are trained and certified to restore fire damage in San Diego.

Do you know which fireworks are legal in San Diego County? The answer is none. Consumer fireworks are not legal in San Diego or San Diego County. That includes sparklers, firecrackers, cherry bombs, bottle rockets and even poppers.

Our local Mission Valley East team is highly trained and certified to restore fire, soot, and smoke damage. In 2018, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reported that 19,500 fires were started by fireworks on July 4th.

Homeowners can prevent flying embers from igniting deck fires by removing flammable materials such as leaves and debris. Installing metal mesh screens beneath railings and in gaps can also block embers. Keeping a water source or fire extinguisher nearby and using non-combustible deck materials are effective preventative measures.

We wish everyone a happy Independence Day this year and urge residents to attend public fireworks displays. Here are some events to choose from:
